Nick Wiegand

Pastor Nick Wiegand

Nick has served Cape Fear as the Lead Pastor since 2019. Prior to Cape Fear, Nick was the president of Lawless Motorcycle Club, a ministry that was focused on bringing the gospel to the motorcycle clubs in the Fayetteville area. He seeks to disciple believers teaching them to declare the gospel, disciple others, and defend the faith.

He has served in church ministry and para-church ministry since 2012 mostly focused on ministry outside of the traditional church model. He served in the Army for 7 years followed by 12 years as a government service as a civilian when he resigned to stay here with the church in the city and with the people he loves. He graduated from Carolina College of Biblical Studies in 2020 with a dual major of a Bachelor of Arts in Advanced Theological Studies and in Apologetics and a minor in Biblical Counseling. Nick desperately wants to reach the heart through the intellect helping others live out the calling God has placed on their hearts.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

01

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and sufficient Word of God, written by men under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

02

God

We believe in one true and living God, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is sovereign, holy, and loving, deserving of all worship and obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3).

03

Man

We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience, bringing separation from God and the need for redemption. Every person is in need of salvation through Christ (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-19).

04

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a gift of God’s love and mercy, provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10).

05

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers united by faith in Him. The local church is an autonomous body of baptized believers committed to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. The ordinances of the church are baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

06

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

We believe baptism by immersion is a public declaration of faith, symbolizing the believer’s death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, observed by believers in remembrance of Him (Romans 6:3-4; Luke 22:19-20).

07

The Christian Life

We believe every believer is called to live a holy and obedient life, growing in Christlikeness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Believers are to love God, love others, and make disciples of all nations (Galatians 2:20; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 1:15-16).

08

Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous will face eternal separation from God (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 21:1-4; Revelation 20:11-15).

09

Religious Liberty

We believe in the freedom of religion, the separation of church and state in its original intention, and that every individual has direct access to God through Christ without the mediation of any other (1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 22:21).

10

Evangelism and Missions

We believe it is the duty and privilege of every believer to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people, making disciples and advancing the kingdom of God (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20).
